The Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Warsaw is celebrating the 70th anniversary of its establishment this year. The ceremony, held on 21 November 2025, brought together numerous representatives of the academic community and scientific institutions, highlighting the Faculty’s significant scientific, educational, and organizational achievements, as well as its contributions to the development of chemical and biological sciences in Poland.
The Polish Biochemical Society extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Warsaw on this anniversary, expressing its appreciation for the Faculty’s impressive development and its interdisciplinary accomplishments, which are also highly significant for biochemistry and molecular biology.
During the ceremony, Prof. Adam Szewczyk — President of the Polish Biochemical Society and an alumnus of the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Warsaw — was awarded the Honorary Medal of the Faculty of Chemistry UW in recognition of his exceptional contributions to its development.
