BIO2025 Congress in Poznań – Scientific Session on Mitochondria and Membranes

During the BIO2025 Congress in Poznań, a dedicated scientific session entitled “Mitochondria and Membranes – Function and Regulation in Cellular Signalling” was held. The session was chaired by Prof. Wiesława Jarmuszkiewicz (Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań), Dr. hab. Piotr Koprowski (Nencki Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw), and Prof. Adam Szewczyk (Nencki Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw).

The event was jointly organized by the Bioenergetics Section and the Biomembranes Section of the Polish Biochemical Society (PTBioch). It brought together researchers investigating the multifaceted roles of mitochondria and cellular membranes in regulating signaling pathways, with a focus on both fundamental mechanisms and their relevance to physiology and disease.

As part of the session, Dr. hab. Piotr Koprowski delivered a lecture presenting recent findings from our laboratory, contributing to the scientific discussion and emphasizing the importance of mitochondrial ion channels in cellular signaling.
