From the very beginning, the main initiator of these meetings was the Bioenergetics Section of the Polish Biochemical Society. MITOCHONDRION conferences were also held in Poznań and Wrocław. The co-organizers of this year’s meeting were the Nencki Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Polish Biophysical Society and the Warsaw Branch of the Polish Biochemical Society. This year’s bioenergy meeting commemorates prof. Lech Wojtczak (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35107954/), an outstanding bioenergetician and long-time President of the Polish Biochemical Society. Hence the initials LW in the name of this year’s edition.
The meeting was organized online on the ZOOM platform, enabling participants from abroad and various research centers in Poland to participate. The scientific program was created on the basis of the submitted abstracts.
